WHAT IS COMPEL?
A ministry of the First Baptist Church of Alhambra, IL, seeking to connect people, in the church and in the community, to an intimate God who cares about each one of them and their individual problems.
COMPEL is all about connecting a person to a God SO AMAZING that he or she is compelled to live for Him! HOW DOES COMPEL WORK?
We seek to help the person by stepping into his/her daily life, providing constant and consistent support through a work program, stable housing environment, community involvement, and personal spiritual growth.
We are focused on providing all of this through 4 program phases: •On-boarding (someone COMPELLED by their great need) •Stabilizing (someone COMPELLED by our care for them) •Rebuilding (someone COMPELLED by the love and care of God) •Growing (someone COMPELLED enough to trade the world for Jesus!) |
HOW IS COMPEL SUPPORTED?
We believe firmly that if God calls us to meet a need, He will provide the means to meet that need. Therefore, if their are people in our community requiring the services of COMPEL, God will provide the finances to do it, without being a burden on local churches.
Currently, COMPEL is mainly supported by our Job Training relationship with DBH Industrial. While we gladly accept donations, we provide services in our location in Worden, IL. If you feel you may have an opportunity our Job training program could assist with, please let us know. We are willing to explore anything that we sense the Lord leading us towards in order to keep His ministry marching forward. DONATIONS are GLADLY ACCEPTED as well! |
